Few considerations on puppy housetraining

If your pup is a breed that remains small for life, you might consider using a litter box for her as an indoor potty spot. This can be either a temporary or a permanent arrangement, depending on your needs. When choosing a litter box, get one with sides low enough that your pup can easily hop in and out and large enough that wastes will end up inside the box and not on the floor next to it. Litter that’s made of extruded pellets usually works better for dogs than the sand or gravel type made for cats, because it doesn’t stick to paws and get tracked out of the box.

Many people believe that cat training is too difficult, and

fact.  The idea that cats are too hard or
too stubborn to train, is just simply not true. 
They may not be as easy or as willing to comply as dogs might be, but
training your cat is not an impossible task, in fact, it isn’t even very

Many parents worry about having a cat in the home with children. They worry not only for the safety of their child but also that of the cat’s. However cats are wonderful companions for children and for many it is the first real friend that they make. Generally speaking the benefits far out weigh any problems and as long as parents oversee the interaction between the two all will be well.

Welcome to the daily event in my household known as cat racing. I have three cats but, two of them are highly competitive and have evolved into speed demons. I should have named them after race car drivers. They take chances. They are daring. I could sell tickets. These cats can be fast and love to see who is the fastest.

One thing I did for my recent birthday was to go for a long walk on the beach. When I came home, I found a HUGE rat right in the middle of the “Welcome” on the door mat! My cat, Beast, who is a great hunter, but hadn’t brought me any ‘gifts’ for quite some time, brought me a birthday present!

Some 5000 years ago (recent studies say about 100.000 years ago, but who’s counting) a smart - and hungry - African Wildcat somewhere in (what was then) Upper Egypt made a clever observation. “These strange and mysterious bipeds seem to be very fond of grain”, he thought. “Biped collects lots of grain and keeps it in big baskets. Big baskets of grain attract lots of yummy mice! Biped doesn’t seem to like mice in his grain! I think I’ll adopt one of these strange bipeds and live in his house and EAT HIS MICE FOR HIM!”
